By using a wheat grass kit, you can take a simple sprouting try, some organic seeds and soil and grow some antioxidant rich wheatgrass at home.

A wheat grass kit makes it possible to grow your own antioxidant rich wheatgrass in your home. Typically, a kit will contain organic seeds, a sprouting tray, organic soil. When you get yours be sure to read over any instructions that come with it. Some manufacturers sell an instruction video with their wheatgrass kits. If you did not get one, use this article to help get your started.

Depending on the wheatgrass kit your purchased, yours will have between 1 and 4 or more trays. The first step is to fill the trays with the organic soil or mulch provided. Do not fill them all the way to the top. Instead, leave a 1/2 inch gap. The best way to handle the organic seeds is to sprout them for 1 to 2 days first. Ideally you will soak the wheat seeds for 12 hours in clean water, then drain them well. Put the drained seeds in a sprouter and rinse them 2 times a day. After they have sprouted for up to 2 days, rinse them one final time. Next spread an even layer on top of the soil. Top the seeds with the remaining 1/2 inch of soil. Water them lightly and you are almost done.

In about 7 days, your wheat grass kit will be ready to harvest.

If all has gone well so far, all you will need is a bit of patience and your wheatgrass kit will produce nice green wheatgrass in about 7 days. While they are growing, place the tray in a warm and moderately lit area. You should avoid direct sunlight while the grass is less than 1 inch in height. Once they are 6 or 7 inches high, they are ready to harvest. Now is the time to get the antioxidant wonders inside. For maximum nutrition, you will need to juice the grass. Cut the grass off about 1/2 inch above the level of the soil. The organic seeds you used will provide a second crop. This is the reason you cut them from the tray. Juice the wheatgrass in your favorite juicer and enjoy. At first, try diluting the juice with 8 parts water. Gradually increase the concentration as you get used to the juice.

If you followed these steps, you should be enjoying the fruits...rather the grasses... of your labor. There are many kits for growing wheat grass available for purchase online. Make sure when you get one that it contains all that you need to get started to make your healthy crops.
